Why is Knorr Ma Soupe Repas Soupe Volaille Curry classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The soup is considered ultra‑processed because it combines many industrially manufactured ingredients such as modified corn starch, maltodextrin, fructose, flavourings, and stabilisers (E 451, E 452). These components, together with emulsifiers, preservatives and concentrated extracts, give the product a long shelf‑life and a uniform texture typical of NOVA 4 foods.

How does the sugar and salt content in this soup affect people with diabetes or hypertension?

At 2 g of total sugars and 0.53 g of added sugars per 100 ml, the soup adds a modest amount of carbohydrate that can raise blood glucose, so diabetics should count it within their daily carbohydrate allowance. The 0.66 g of salt per 100 ml is relatively high for a single serving and may contribute to increased blood pressure, making it less suitable for individuals managing hypertension.

Is the egg white in this soup a concern for people with an egg allergy?

Yes. Egg white is listed as an ingredient and is highlighted in the allergen information, so anyone with an egg allergy should avoid this product to prevent allergic reactions.
