Flamengo cheese, sliced and sold in a 500 g family-size tray, is a traditional Portuguese cow‑milk cheese from the Azores and falls within the Milk and dairy products group (cheese). It provides a high protein content (23.9 g per 100 g) and contains very little sugar. However, it is high in total fat (27.9 g) and saturated fat (18.9 g), has a moderate salt level (1.25 g), falls in the NOVA 3 processing category and carries a Nutri‑Score of D, with the addition of the preservative potassium nitrate (E252).
