Why is Cookies chocolat blanc cranberries classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The product is labeled NOVA 4 because its formulation relies on refined ingredients such as white chocolate, multiple refined sugars, and a blend of vegetable oils, and it includes several industrial additives. The additives listed are E322 (soy lecithin), E322i (soy lecithin variant), E150a (caramel colour), E300 (ascorbic acid, used as an antioxidant), E330 (citric acid, an acidity regulator), E500 (sodium bicarbonate) and E450 (diphosphates), all of which are typical of highly processed snack foods.

How does the high sugar content in these cookies affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With 43 g of sugars per 100 g, the cookies can cause rapid blood‑glucose spikes, making them unsuitable for people managing diabetes without strict portion control. Although the salt amount (0.59 g/100 g) is lower than many sweet snacks, the overall energy density and sugar load can indirectly influence blood pressure, especially when consumed in excess.

Based on the ingredient list, can this product be considered suitable for vegan, keto, halal, or gluten‑free diets?

No. The cookies contain whole‑milk powder, skimmed‑milk powder and wheat flour, which disqualify them for vegan and gluten‑free diets. Their high carbohydrate (65 g of carbs per 100 g) and sugar content also make them unsuitable for a keto regimen. While the product does not list explicit non‑halal ingredients, the presence of dairy and possible trace alcohol from flavorings means it cannot be confirmed as halal without certification.
