Why is Maxi' x3 Poulet Rôti Crudités classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The sandwich combines refined whole‑grain bread, brined and roasted chicken, and a reduced‑fat mayonnaise that are all industrially processed, which places it in NOVA group 4. Its ingredient list includes five declared additives: triphosphates (E451) as a stabiliser, potassium lactate (E326) and potassium acetate (E261) as acidifiers, sodium erythorbate (E316) as an antioxidant, and an unspecified additive coded E14xx, likely a flavouring or preservative.

How do the fat, salt and sugar levels in this sandwich affect people with high blood pressure or diabetes?

The sandwich provides 8.8 g of fat, 1.1 g of salt and 2.9 g of sugars per 100 g, which is lower than the average sandwich but still contributes to daily intake. For hypertensive individuals, the moderate salt amount may require portion control, while the low sugar content is better suited for diabetic diets; however, the total carbohydrate content of 26 g per 100 g can still raise blood glucose levels, so monitoring portion size is recommended.

Is this sandwich suitable for a gluten‑free or vegan diet, and what allergens should consumers be aware of?

No, the sandwich is not gluten‑free because it contains wheat flour and added gluten, and it is not vegan as it includes chicken meat, egg yolk in the mayonnaise and may contain trace dairy. The declared allergens are eggs, gluten and mustard, and the label also warns of possible traces of milk, fish, crustaceans, sesame, celery, soy, lupin and nuts.
