Why is WRAP Poulet rôti Crudités classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The wrap combines refined wheat flour, processed chicken that has been brined and roasted, a mustard‑mayonnaise sauce and several stabilisers and preservatives. These ingredients are typical of industrial formulation and give the product a high degree of processing, resulting in a NOVA 4 rating. The label lists six additives: E261 (potassium acetate), E316 (sodium erythorbate), E326 (potassium lactate), E451 (triphosphates), E500 (sodium carbonates) and a generic E14xx component used as a further preservative or flavour enhancer.

How does the sugar and salt content of this wrap affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With only 1.5 g of sugar per 100 g, the wrap is low in sugars and therefore unlikely to cause rapid blood‑glucose spikes, making it a relatively safe choice for people managing diabetes. However, the salt level is 1.1 g per 100 g, which is moderate and can contribute noticeably to daily sodium intake; individuals with hypertension should limit portions or balance it with low‑salt foods elsewhere in the meal.

Is the mustard in this product a concern for people with mustard allergy?

Yes. The mayonnaise sauce contains 1.2 % mustard, and mustard is highlighted as an allergen in the ingredient list. Consumers who are allergic to mustard should avoid this wrap, as even small amounts can trigger allergic reactions.
