Why is MAXI' x3 Thon Crudités Œuf classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The sandwich is labelled NOVA 4 because its formulation includes industrial ingredients such as refined flours, added oils, emulsifiers and a reduced‑fat mayonnaise that contains stabilisers; the only declared food additives are acidity regulator E260 (acetic acid), acidity regulator E330 (citric acid) and thickener E412 (guar gum).

How does the sugar and salt content of this sandwich affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With 2.6 g of sugar and 0.95 g of salt per 100 g, the sandwich provides less sugar than the average sandwich, making it a relatively modest carbohydrate source for diabetes management, but the salt level remains significant and should be accounted for in a low‑sodium diet for hypertension.

Is the mustard in this product a concern for people with mustard allergy?

Yes, the sandwich contains mustard (E330 and mustard seeds) in the mayonnaise, so anyone allergic to mustard should avoid it, as the allergen is listed among the declared allergens.
