Carre frais bio, sold under the Elle & Vire (Savencia) brand, is an organic spreadable cheese made from skimmed milk, cream, salt and cultured lactic ferments. Classified in the 'Milk and dairy products' PNNS group (cheese), it carries a Nutri-Score of D, falls in NOVA 3 (moderately processed), and provides 12 g of protein, 2.5 g of sugar and about 192 kcal per 100 g, but also contains 11 g of saturated fat. The product is organic and additive-free with low sugar, yet its salt level (1.3 g per 100 g) and saturated fat content are relatively high, and it is unsuitable for vegans or those with milk allergies.
