Why is Magnum Glace Bâtonnet Citron Euphoria classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The product is made from refined sugars, rehydrated skimmed milk powder, cocoa butter and a complex blend of emulsifiers, stabilisers, colourants and acidity regulators, all of which are industrial ingredients that trigger a NOVA 4 rating. The label lists eight food additives: E471 (mono‑ and diglycerides of fatty acids), E322 (lecithins), E330 (citric acid), E407 (carrageenans), E412 (guar gum), E417 (tara gum), E163 (anthocyanins) and E290 (carbon dioxide).

How does the sugar content in this ice‑cream bar affect a diabetic diet?

With 22 g of sugars per 100 g, the bar provides a rapid source of glucose that can raise blood‑sugar levels quickly, making it unsuitable for tight glycaemic control. People with diabetes should treat it as a treat, limit portion size and account for the carbohydrate load in their overall daily intake.

Is this product suitable for vegan, keto, halal or gluten‑free diets?

The ice‑cream contains skimmed milk, milk powder and butter, so it is not vegan and also not suitable for a strict keto diet because of its 22 g of sugars and 26 g of carbohydrates per 100 g. It does not list any gluten‑containing ingredients, making it likely gluten‑free, and it contains no pork‑derived components, so it may be acceptable for many halal consumers, although no halal certification is indicated.
