Why is Lay's Campesinas classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The snack is deemed ultra‑processed because it is made from refined potatoes, vegetable oils and a complex flavor blend that includes several food additives such as the colorant E160c (paprika extract), the antioxidant E300 (ascorbic acid), the preservative E306 (tocopherol‑rich extract), the acid regulator E330 (citric acid) and the antioxidant E392 (rosemary extract).

How does the sugar and salt content in Lay's Campesinas affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With 3.8 g of sugars per 100 g, the snack adds a modest amount of carbohydrate that can fit into a controlled‑carb plan if portion‑sized, but the 0.65 g of salt contributes to daily sodium intake and should be limited for anyone managing hypertension.

Is Lay's Campesinas suitable for a vegan diet?

All listed ingredients are plant‑derived, and the product carries a vegan status, so it aligns with vegan dietary requirements despite containing processed additives.
