Why does LION Céréales Barres receive a Nutri‑Score of D, and which nutrients contribute most to this rating?

The D grade stems from its relatively high levels of added sugars (22.3 g), saturated fat (5.2 g) and salt (0.46 g) per 100 g, which generate many negative points in the Nutri‑Score algorithm, outweighing the positive points awarded for fiber and vitamins.

How does the sugar and salt content in LION Céréales Barres affect people with diabetes or hypertension?

The 22.3 g of sugar per 100 g can cause rapid blood‑glucose spikes, making the bar unsuitable for strict diabetic control, while the 0.46 g of salt contributes to daily sodium intake and may exacerbate hypertension if consumed regularly.

Is the presence of gluten, milk and soy in this bar a concern for individuals with food allergies or intolerances?

Yes; the bar contains wheat flour (gluten), skimmed milk powder and soy‑derived lecithin, so it is not safe for people with celiac disease, milk allergy, or soy allergy, and those sensitivities should avoid it.
