Why is Indian Style Chicken Tikka classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The meal combines cooked rice, marinated chicken, sauces, dairy products and several refined ingredients, which are all industrially processed; it also includes the emulsifier mono‑ and diglycerides of fatty acids (E471) and the thickener guar gum (E412), as well as maltodextrin and dextrose as added sugars.

How does the sugar and salt content in this product affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With only 1.8 g of sugar per 100 g, the dish is relatively low‑sugar and can fit into a diabetic meal plan when portion sizes are controlled, but the 0.78 g of salt per 100 g contributes to daily sodium intake and should be limited for people managing hypertension.

Is the milk present in this product a concern for people with lactose intolerance or dairy allergy?

Yes; the recipe contains cream, crème fraîche and skimmed milk powder, which provide both dairy proteins and lactose, making the product unsuitable for anyone with a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance.
