Is Elmex Sensitive Mouthwash safe for people with extremely sensitive gums or oral tissues?

The rinse is formulated for sensitive teeth and includes ingredients that lower pain signals, but its alcohol‑based flavoring can cause mild stinging in very sensitive gums; users with severe oral irritation should test a small amount first or consult a dentist.

What role does sodium fluoride play in Elmex Sensitive Mouthwash?

Sodium fluoride helps re‑mineralize enamel by depositing calcium and phosphate, which strengthens teeth and reduces the likelihood of cavities while also contributing to the desensitizing effect.

How often should Elmex Sensitive Mouthwash be used and does it contain any controversial chemicals?

The manufacturer recommends rinsing once daily after brushing, using the product for 30 seconds each time; the formula contains fluoride and may include alcohol, both of which are common in oral care but can be considered controversial by users seeking alcohol‑free options.
