Is Elmex Sensitive Plus Gum safe for people with sensitive gums or mouth irritation?

The toothpaste is specifically marketed for sensitive gums and includes mild abrasives and anti‑plaque agents, but the high fluoride level and ingredients such as benzyl alcohol or eugenol can cause irritation in highly reactive mouths, so individuals should consult a dentist if they experience discomfort.

What does tin(II) fluoride do in this toothpaste and how does it benefit gum health?

Tin(II) fluoride provides antibacterial activity that helps reduce plaque buildup and gingival inflammation, while also strengthening enamel and decreasing tooth sensitivity, making it a key active component for gum‑care formulations.

How often should Elmex Sensitive Plus Gum be used and does it contain any controversial chemicals?

Dentists recommend brushing twice daily with a pea‑sized amount, avoiding swallowing the paste; the formula includes approved ingredients such as fluoride, sorbitol and glycerin, but also contains synthetic additives like sodium saccharin, benzyl alcohol and eugenol, which some consumers may wish to avoid.
