Why is Tutti Frutti Original classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The candy is made from refined sugar, glucose syrup, multiple starches and synthetic colourings, all of which require extensive industrial processing, placing it in NOVA group 4. Its label lists three food‑grade additives: E270 (citric acid) as an acidity regulator, E325 (sodium lactate) as a preservative and flavour enhancer, and E903 (beeswax) used as a glazing agent.

How does the sugar and salt content of this candy affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With 60 g of sugar per 100 g, the candy can cause rapid spikes in blood glucose, making it unsuitable for people managing diabetes. The salt level of 0.29 g is modest but still contributes to daily sodium intake, which may be a concern for individuals with hypertension when consumed in larger quantities.

Based on its ingredients, is Tutti Frutti Original suitable for strict diets like vegan, keto, halal or gluten‑free?

The product is vegan, as it contains no animal‑derived ingredients and all listed additives are plant‑based or synthetic. It is not keto‑friendly because the sugar and carbohydrate levels are extremely high. Wheat starch means it is not gluten‑free, and while the listed additives are generally acceptable in halal certification, the product does not carry an explicit halal label, so verification is advised.
