Why is Heinz Seriously GOOD Mayonnaise Sauce classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The sauce is made from refined rapeseed oil, water, pasteurised egg yolk, vinegar, sugar, starch, salt and mustard seed spices, all of which undergo extensive industrial processing; the only listed additive is calcium disodium EDTA, a chelating agent used to preserve stability.

How does the high fat and salt content in this mayonnaise affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With 70 g of fat and 1 g of salt per 100 g, the product adds substantial calories and sodium, which can raise blood glucose spikes and blood pressure, making it unsuitable for strict diabetic or hypertensive meal plans without careful portion control.

Is the egg yolk in this mayonnaise a concern for people with egg allergy?

Yes, the ingredient list includes pasteurised egg yolk (5 % of the product), so anyone allergic to eggs should avoid this mayonnaise.
