Why is Vegan protein blend classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The blend is labeled NOVA 4 because it includes several industrial ingredients such as sucralose (sweetener), natural flavourings, a reduced‑fat cocoa powder, high‑oleic sunflower oil, a thickening agent (xarthane gum), and an antioxidant (D‑alpha‑tocopherol). These components are manufactured separately and added to the protein isolates, making the product ultra‑processed.

How does the sugar and salt content in this product affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With only 0.1 g of sugar per 100 g, the blend is virtually sugar‑free and therefore safe for diabetes management when consumed in typical serving sizes. However, the salt level of 1.67 g per 100 g can contribute noticeably to daily sodium intake, so people with hypertension should monitor portion sizes or choose a lower‑salt alternative.

Is this product suitable for strict diets like vegan, keto, halal, or gluten‑free?

The product is certified vegan and contains no animal‑derived ingredients, making it suitable for vegan diets. Its low carbohydrate content (6.2 g per 100 g) aligns with keto guidelines, but the halal status is not declared, and the label does not specify whether it is gluten‑free, so those concerns should be verified with the manufacturer.
