Why is Bubblizz mini surf classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The candy is made from refined sugar, glucose syrup, gelatin, flavorings and several food‑grade additives, which places it in the NOVA 4 category for ultra‑processed foods. Its additive list includes colorant E133 (Brilliant Blue FCF), acidity regulators E350 (sodium malates) and E428 (gelatin), as well as preservatives and flavor enhancers such as E270 (lactic acid) and E296 (malic acid).

How does the sugar and salt content in this product affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With 59 g of sugar per 100 g, the candy can cause rapid spikes in blood glucose, making it unsuitable for people managing diabetes. The 0.51 g of salt per 100 g exceeds the average for sweet snacks and can contribute to elevated blood pressure, so it is not recommended for hypertensive individuals.

Is the gelatin in Bubblizz mini surf a concern for vegetarians, vegans, or people with gelatin allergies?

Yes, the product contains gelatin (E428), which is derived from animal collagen and is therefore not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets. It is also listed as an allergen, so individuals with gelatin allergies should avoid it.
