Why is Plant Protein Shake (Creamy Chocolate) classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The shake is built from refined ingredients such as pea protein concentrate, alkalized cocoa, and high‑oleic sunflower oil, and it includes additives like gellan gum (E418) for texture and potassium citrate as a pH stabiliser, which together place it in the NOVA 4 ultra‑processed category.

How does the sugar and salt content in this shake affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With zero sugars, the shake is safe for blood‑glucose management and suitable for diabetics, but the 1.35 g of salt per serving represents a moderate sodium load that could contribute to higher blood pressure, so hypertensive individuals should monitor their overall daily sodium intake when consuming it.

Is this protein shake suitable for vegan, keto, or gluten‑free diets?

All ingredients are plant‑based, making the shake fully vegan; its low carbohydrate count (7 g per serving) aligns well with keto principles, though it is not strictly keto‑friendly due to the modest carb content. No wheat‑derived grains are listed, so it is generally considered gluten‑free, but consumers with severe gluten intolerance should verify that processing facilities are free from cross‑contamination.
