Why is Torku Banada classified as ultra-processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

It is considered ultra-processed because the candy is built from refined sugar, palm oil, milk powder, emulsifiers such as sunflower lecithin, added flavorings and salt, all of which are typical industrial confectionery ingredients rather than whole foods.

How does the sugar and salt content in Torku Banada affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

The 33.3 g of sugars per 100 g can cause a rapid rise in blood glucose, making the candy unsuitable for strict diabetic control, while the 0.6 g of salt exceeds low‑salt recommendations and may contribute to higher blood pressure in hypertensive individuals.

Is the gluten present in Torku Banada a concern for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity?

Yes, the ingredient list includes gluten, so the product must be avoided by anyone with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.
