Why is Belvita minis chocolat classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

It receives a NOVA 4 rating because the formula combines refined flours, added sugars, chocolate chips, vegetable oils and several industrial emulsifiers and stabilisers; the listed additives are E322 (lecithin), E322i (lecithin i), E450 (diphosphates), E472e (polyglycerol esters), E492 (glyceryl‑ester polyhydroxystearate) and E500 (sodium carbonate).

How does the sugar and salt content in Belvita minis chocolat affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With 27 g of sugar per 100 g, the biscuits can cause a rapid rise in blood glucose and should be limited for people with diabetes; the 0.61 g of salt per 100 g is moderate but can contribute to daily sodium intake, so hypertensive individuals should also consume them sparingly.

Is Belvita minis chocolat suitable for vegan, gluten‑free or keto eating plans?

No; the biscuits contain wheat flour and gluten, soy‑derived lecithin, and may contain trace milk, making them unsuitable for vegan or gluten‑free diets, and their high carbohydrate (66 g per 100 g) content is far above keto limits.
