Why is Boni Natuurlijk Mineraalwater classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The product is placed in NOVA 4 because its ingredient list goes beyond plain water and includes processed items such as chocolate, wheat flour, vegetable oils, emulsifiers (E322, E471, E472e), a thickener (E466) and a colourant (E160a), all of which indicate industrial formulation.

How does the sodium (salt) content in this mineral water affect a hypertensive diet?

The water provides about 0.15 g of salt per litre (≈0.015 g per 100 g), which is low compared with many drinks, but it still contributes to daily sodium intake and should be consumed in moderation by people who need to limit salt.

Is this product suitable for a gluten‑free or vegan diet despite the listed allergens?

No. The label lists wheat‑derived gluten and milk proteins among the ingredients, so the water is neither gluten‑free nor vegan.
