Is Sensodyne toothpaste safe for people with sensitive teeth and gums?

Yes, the formula is specifically engineered for sensitive dentine, using potassium nitrate to block pain signals and fluoride to strengthen enamel, making it safe for daily use on sensitive teeth and gums.

What is the role of potassium nitrate in this Sensodyne toothpaste?

Potassium nitrate works by calming the nerves within the tooth dentine, reducing the transmission of pain stimuli and providing long‑term relief from sensitivity when used consistently.

How often should this toothpaste be used and does it contain any controversial ingredients?

The toothpaste is recommended for twice‑daily brushing, morning and night. It contains sodium lauryl sulfate, a common surfactant that can cause mild irritation for some users, but it is approved for oral care and is safe for the majority of consumers.
