SC Johnson Mr Muscle Drano Power-Gel
Product Insights
SC Johnson Mr Muscle Drano Power‑Gel is a 1 L plastic‑bottled, fast‑acting drain cleaner that combines sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide amines and a non‑ionic surfactant (C12‑18‑alkyldimethyl‑amine oxide) to dissolve organic blockages in household pipes. Its strong oxidising and alkaline action makes it highly effective for clearing clogs, but the caustic formula can cause skin irritation, respiratory irritation and, if misapplied, may damage certain pipe materials such as PVC or corroded metal. The product carries the German “Grüner Punkt” recycling symbol for its container, yet the chemical ingredients are not environmentally friendly and require protective gloves and good ventilation during use.
Comparative Analysis
Compared with other household drain cleaners, the Mr Muscle Power‑Gel stands out for its chlorine‑based, fast‑acting gel formula, offering quicker clog dissolution than many conventional liquid cleaners.
