Why is Müsli-riegel Schokolade classified as ultra‑processed (NOVA 4) and what specific additives does it contain?

The bar is built from refined grain flours, sugar‑alcohols, palm oil and several industrial additives; its ingredient list includes calcium carbonate (E170), calcium carbonate (i) (E170i), lecithin (E322), glycerin (E422), isomalt (E953) and maltitol (E965), all of which are typical markers of ultra‑processed foods, thus assigning it to NOVA 4.

How does the sugar and salt content in this product affect a diabetic or hypertensive diet?

With only 1.4 g of sugars per 100 g, the bar is low in added sugars, which is suitable for diabetes management, but the 21.5 g of polyols may cause gastrointestinal discomfort in some individuals; the 0.4 g of salt is moderate and should be considered within daily sodium limits for hypertension.

Is the presence of peanuts in Müsli-riegel Schokolade a concern for people with nut allergies, and how is cross‑contamination addressed?

Peanuts are listed as a 7 % ingredient and are highlighted as an allergen, so the product is not safe for peanut‑allergic consumers; the label also notes possible traces of soy and other tree nuts, indicating that cross‑contamination cannot be ruled out.
