Dontodent Black Shine

Dontodent Black Shine is a German-made, vegan toothpaste packaged in a 75 ml tube and marketed for its black charcoal-based whitening effect. Its formulation combines hydrated silica and charcoal powder for mechanical stain removal, sodium fluoride for cavity protection, sorbitol and sodium saccharin for humectancy and mild sweetness, and a blend of surfactants and phosphates to create a foaming, cleaning base. However, the presence of an abrasive charcoal-silica mix, synthetic surfactants, fragrance (limonene) and artificial sweetener may irritate sensitive gums, and the tube material is unspecified, limiting recyclability.
