Product Insights

The FRITZ! Repeater 1200 AX from AVM is a Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) dual‑band range extender that can boost wireless coverage in homes and small offices up to 1200 Mbps while offering simple setup via the Fritz! web interface and automatic mesh integration. However, because it re‑broadcasts the existing signal, actual speeds are typically lower than the advertised maximum, and optimal placement near a power outlet and away from thick walls or sources of interference is essential for reliable performance. The device is CE‑certified, comes in recyclable cardboard packaging marked with the Green Dot, and must be disposed of as electronic waste to meet environmental regulations.

Comparative Analysis

Compared with standard Wi‑Fi repeaters, the FRITZ! Repeater 1200 AX stands out by supporting the newer Wi‑Fi 6 standard and seamless integration with AVM Fritz! Mesh systems, but it still delivers lower real‑world throughput than a dedicated Wi‑Fi 6 router.
