Is Old Spice Bearglove stick suitable for sensitive, acne‑prone, or dry skin?

The formula contains several fragrance allergens (coumarin, geraniol, citral, limonene, hexyl cinnamal, linalool) and propylene glycol, which can irritate sensitive or acne‑prone skin; while it includes moisturizing sodium stearate that can help dry skin, users with sensitivities should patch‑test before regular use.

What role does limonene play in the Old Spice Bearglove deodorant?

Limonene is a citrus‑scented fragrance compound that contributes to the characteristic “Bearglove” scent and provides a fresh aroma, but it is also a common skin sensitizer and may trigger allergic reactions in susceptible individuals.

How often should the Old Spice Bearglove stick be applied, and does it contain any controversial ingredients?

For optimal protection, apply the stick once daily to clean, dry underarms after showering; the product includes propylene glycol, EDTA, and multiple fragrance allergens, which some consumers consider controversial due to potential irritation and environmental concerns.

Product Insights

Old Spice Bearglove is a 50 ml solid antiperspirant stick formulated with aluminum‑based salts (MINIUM SALTS Alpha‑Isomethyl lonone), propylene glycol, and a blend of fragrance ingredients such as coumarin, geraniol, citral, limonene, and linalool. The inclusion of moisturizing agents like sodium stearate and a plastic stick packaging provides long‑lasting dry protection, but the product also contains several known skin sensitizers (coumarin, geraniol, citral, limonene, hexyl cinnamal, linalool) and an EDTA chelator, which may irritate sensitive or allergy‑prone skin. Overall, it delivers classic, high‑duration odor control for men, while users with sensitive skin should patch‑test before regular use.

Comparative Analysis

Positioned as a classic men’s antiperspirant stick, Old Spice Bearglove offers a solid, long‑lasting formula with strong fragrance and aluminum‑based sweat control that differentiates it from gel or spray deodorants.
