Is Pro Novo Gourami suitable for both juvenile and adult gourami, or is it targeted at a specific life stage?

The formulation is designed as an all‑stage feed, providing the protein and micronutrients needed by fry, juvenile, and adult gourami, though breeders often switch to specialized fry or breeding diets during the earliest growth phases.

What is the main protein source in Pro Novo Gourami, and is the feed grain‑free?

The primary protein comes from high‑quality fish meal derived from marine species, complemented by shrimp and insect meals; the product is marketed as grain‑free, using algae and plant extracts instead of cereals.

Are there any common allergens or additives in this fish food that hobbyists should be aware of?

The feed contains shrimp and crustacean meals, which can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive fish, and it includes synthetic colorants and antioxidants that some users prefer to avoid for a more natural diet.

Product Insights

Pro Novo Gourami is a 115 g bag of premium fish food from JBL, specifically formulated for gourami species. The feed combines fish meal, marine proteins, algal extracts and added vitamins to deliver a high protein level (around 35‑40 % dry matter) that supports growth and coloration. However, the formulation may contain moderate fat levels and some artificial colorants, which can be a concern for environmentally‑conscious hobbyists or for fish prone to lipid‑related health issues.

Comparative Analysis

Compared with typical fish foods, this formula offers a higher protein content to promote rapid growth while keeping fat levels within the standard range for ornamental fish diets.
