Is the Garnier Delial Kids 50+ sunscreen safe for sensitive or acne-prone skin?

The lotion contains several chemical UV filters and fragrance, which can cause irritation in highly sensitive or acne-prone skin, so a patch test is recommended and those with sensitivities may prefer mineral-based sunscreens.

What role does Ethylhexyl Triazone play in the Delial Kids 50+ sunscreen formula?

Ethylhexyl Triazone is a high-efficiency UVA filter that boosts the product's ability to block long-wave ultraviolet light, helping prevent sunburn and premature skin aging while keeping the lotion lightweight.

How often should the Delial Kids 50+ sunscreen be applied and does it contain any controversial chemicals?

Apply a generous amount 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating; the formula includes chemical filters such as Homosalate and Octocrylene, which are approved but have been scrutinized for potential endocrine effects, so users seeking mineral-only protection may consider alternatives.

Product Insights

This Garnier Delial Kids 50+ sunscreen is a 300 ml lotion formulated for children, providing high SPF 50+ broad-spectrum UV protection. Its formula combines chemical UV filters such as Homosalate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl Triazone and Drometrizole, along with the antioxidant vitamin E and the humectant glycerin to help maintain skin hydration. However, the product relies entirely on synthetic filters, includes fragrance, PEG-8 laurate and several polymers, which may irritate very sensitive skin and raise concerns about possible endocrine activity, and its vegan status is not disclosed.

Comparative Analysis

Compared with other mass-market children's sunscreens, this Garnier Delial 50+ SPF lotion stands out for its high broad-spectrum chemical filter blend and added vitamin E, while the presence of fragrance and synthetic filters may be less suitable for very sensitive skin.
