Is Maybelline Color Sense Lifter Gloss Reef 6 safe for sensitive or acne-prone skin?

The gloss contains fragrance, phenoxyethanol, and synthetic polymers that can trigger irritation in very sensitive or acne-prone skin, though its hydrating ingredients like sodium hyaluronate and vitamin-E may be soothing; a patch test is recommended before full-face application.

What benefit does sodium hyaluronate provide in this lip gloss?

Sodium hyaluronate is a humectant that attracts and retains moisture, helping the lips appear plumper and stay hydrated while enhancing the gloss's smooth texture.

Does this gloss contain any controversial or potentially irritating ingredients?

Yes, it includes phenoxyethanol (a preservative), fragrance, synthetic polymers such as acrylates copolymer and VA copolymer, and may contain animal-derived colorants like carmine, all of which are considered potentially irritating or non-vegan by some consumers.
