Is Complice Vitalive Senior suitable for all senior dogs or only certain breeds and health conditions?

The formula is designed for senior dogs in general, offering balanced nutrients for aging pets, but owners of breeds prone to grain sensitivities or dogs with specific medical conditions should consult a veterinarian before use.

What are the main protein sources in this food and how does its grain‑inclusive composition affect digestion?

The primary proteins are dehydrated poultry (volaille) and peas; the product also contains a substantial amount of cereals, so it is not grain‑free. Dogs that tolerate grains should digest it well, while those with grain allergies may experience digestive upset.

Does this senior dog food contain common allergens, and what feeding guidelines should be followed?

Yes, it includes common allergens such as poultry, cereals, peas, and animal by‑products. Introduce the food gradually over 7‑10 days, monitor for signs of allergy like itching or gastrointestinal upset, and adjust the diet if any adverse reactions appear.

Product Insights

Complice Vitalive Senior is a complete dry food formulated for senior dogs, featuring a blend of dehydrated poultry (approximately 58% of the kibble) and pea protein alongside cereals that make up about half of the formula. The recipe also includes animal by‑products, modest amounts of oils and fats, yeast, and mineral supplements, providing essential nutrients but also raising concerns about protein quality and potential allergens such as grains and peas. While the product is made in France and free of added preservatives, the high cereal content and the presence of unspecified oils (possible palm oil) may make it less suitable for dogs with grain sensitivities or weight‑management needs.

Comparative Analysis

Compared with most senior dog foods that prioritize higher animal protein and lower grain levels, Complice Vitalive Senior relies heavily on cereals and combines poultry and pea protein, positioning it as a carbohydrate‑rich, mixed‑protein option in the market.
