What surfaces and dishware can be safely cleaned with this liquid dishwashing detergent?

The detergent is intended for use on all typical kitchen dishes, glassware, cutlery, and cookware, and it can also be used to clean non-porous kitchen surfaces such as countertops and stainless-steel sinks, but it should not be applied to delicate materials like unglazed pottery, natural stone, or surfaces that are susceptible to oil-based residues.

Are there any health or safety concerns associated with using this dishwashing liquid?

Yes, the formula contains the fragrance components citral and limonene, which can trigger skin irritation or allergic reactions, and the product is labeled to cause severe eye irritation; users should wear gloves if they have sensitive skin and avoid contact with eyes, keeping the container out of reach of children.

Is the packaging of this dishwashing liquid recyclable or biodegradable?

The detergent is sold in a standard plastic bottle, and while the plastic material is technically recyclable where facilities exist, the packaging does not meet biodegradable standards, and the EcoCert label applies to the formula rather than the container, making its overall environmental impact mixed.

Product Insights

L'Artisan Savonnier's 1 L liquid dishwashing detergent is formulated with 99% naturally derived ingredients, of which 10% are certified organic, and carries EcoCert and Greenlife labels. The product is designed to clean dishes efficiently using a low-foam, concentrated formula that promotes water and energy savings, and it is sold in a plastic bottle. However, the formulation contains citral and limonene, known sensitizers that can cause skin and eye irritation, and the plastic packaging's recyclability is unclear, which may limit its overall environmental friendliness.

Comparative Analysis

Positioned as an eco-friendly, natural-origin liquid detergent, this product differentiates itself through its 99% natural composition and 10% organic content, while its plastic packaging and presence of potential allergens such as citral and limonene make it less sustainable than fully biodegradable or recyclable dishwashing alternatives.
