Based on its formula, is this product safe for sensitive, acne-prone, or dry skin?

The cream is designed for very dry, cracked skin and includes soothing agents like urea and Centella Asiatica, making it ideal for dry skin; however, its synthetic emollients and preservatives may cause irritation in highly sensitive or acne-prone skin, so a patch test is advisable.

What role does urea play in this hand cream and what benefits does it provide?

Urea acts as a humectant and keratolytic, pulling moisture into the outer skin layer and softening rough patches, which helps relieve dryness, improve elasticity and reduce itching.

How often should the hand cream be applied and does it contain any controversial ingredients?

Apply a thin layer to clean hands two to three times daily, especially after washing; the formula avoids parabens and sulfates but does contain synthetic emollients such as ethylhexyl stearate and the preservative caprylyl glycol, which some consumers consider controversial.

Product Insights

Isana MED Akut Handcream is a clinical-grade hand moisturizer formulated with a urea-centella complex, glycerin and shea butter to hydrate extremely dry, cracked skin and reduce itchiness. It absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue and has been dermatologically tested, earning a 5-star Dermatest seal. However, the formula contains synthetic emollients such as ethylhexyl stearate and preservatives like caprylyl glycol, which may irritate very sensitive individuals, and the vegan claim depends on the source of urea and shea butter.

Comparative Analysis

Targeted at severe hand dryness, Isana MED Akut Handcream offers a more intensive urea-based treatment than standard over-the-counter moisturizers while remaining competitively priced for drugstore shoppers.
